ALGIERS, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Algerian government has decided to cut internet supply nationwide for four days during the first hour of each baccalaureate exam due from June 20 to 24, in order to thwart attempts to leak exam subjects online.

This is the third year in a row that the Ministry of Education undertakes such procedure, in coordination with the Ministry of Post, Information Technology & Communication (PITC).

PITC Minister Imene Houda Feraoun said that "cutting the internet is a must, as it would help our children to take the exam in serenity. If we do not cut the internet, the first who leave the exam room can picture the subject and put it online; Then, the reputation of this exam will be jeopardized."

Exam topics and answers were shared on social networks in recent years. In response, the government decided to open an investigation and arrest people involved in such fraud, as well as cut internet supply during exams period.
