GABORONE, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Botswana's President Mokgweetsi Masisi has made changes to his cabinet appointing new Ministers to the portfolios on International Affairs and Cooperation as well as that of Infrastructure and Housing Development.

A communication from the Office of the President (OP) confirmed the two ministerial transfers on Wednesday afternoon without giving further explanations for such arrangement.

According to the communique, Unity Dow is transferred from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development to that of International Affairs and Cooperation while Vincent Tina Seretse is transferred from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation to that of Infrastructure and Housing Development.

Dow is a former lawyer and many political analysts had previously believed she suited the International portfolio better ever since new appointments were made in April.

Masisi appointed a new cabinet immediately after taking over from Ian Khama on April 1 following the latter's stepping down at the end of his second five year term.

He will lead the southern African country until the next general elections slated for 2019 where a new president will be elected.

He has already made some changes to top government positions ever since his appointment, with the notable one being the replacement of the government intelligence agency director general in May.
