ADDIS ABABA, June 28 (Xinhua) -- The Ethiopian government on Thursday revealed the formation of a special committee designated to investigate plots against the ongoing nationwide reform.

Revealing the formation of a special committee, the Ethiopian Prime Minister's Office stressed that actors who are against the ongoing reform were behind Saturday's bomb attack that hit a mass rally organized in support of Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, eventually killing two people and injuring 156 others.

Forces who are working to daunt the ongoing socioeconomic and political reforms in the East African country have been working to impact the normal functioning of Ethiopia's public service providers, which include sabotaging the electric and telecommunication services, the PM's office said in a statement on Thursday.

The statement further revealed that activities that aimed at putting pressure on the country's economy so as to negatively affect citizens through soaring inflation are also underway by actors that are against the ongoing reform.

The office revealed that the special committee, which is currently undertaking its investigations, will soon disclose its findings.
