CAIRO, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi underlined on Thursday the importance of promoting cooperation with France and coordination in the cases of common interests, the official news agency MENA reported.
Sisi's remarks came during his meeting with visiting French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Egypt and France will resume consultation over different regional issues for addressing the ongoing challenges that impact the Mediterranean Sea countries, MENA quoted presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi as saying.
The two sides touched upon the recent developments in Libya and the means to push forward the political settlement in light of the two countries' keenness to restore stability and security along the Mediterranean region, Radi added.
The meeting also tackled the Syrian crisis and the Palestinian issue.
They also agreed on establishing a cultural partnership between Egypt and France via co-founding large cultural projects like the Art City and Opera House in Egypt's new administrative Capital, MENA reported.
