Egypt condemns deadly terror attack in Afghanistan

CAIRO, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Egypt condemned on Monday the terrorist attack in the center of the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad, leaving at least 19 dead and 20 others injured.

In a statement, the Egyptian foreign ministry reiterated Egypt's full support of Afghanistan in face of terrorism, renewing calls for mobilizing international efforts to uproot terrorism and dry up its financing sources.

The ministry offered condolences to the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery to all the injured.

The bomb attack was carried out in Jalalabad city on Sunday when a suicide bomber blew himself up targeting a convoy carrying members of the Sikh minority on the way to enter the governor's house to meet Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
