KAMPALA, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Police in southwestern Uganda on Wednesday said they have completed the search for five bodies of people who drowned on Lake Bunyonyi on June 26.
Elly Maate, Kigezi regional police spokesperson in a statement said the last body was retrieved from the lake on Wednesday.
"The last body which was still missing surfaced this morning (Wednesday). It was part of the five which drowned at Hamukaka landing site on Lake Bunyonyi," said Maate, noting that this ends the one-week long search by locals and the marine police.
The deceased were using a local boat from Hamukaka landing site crossing to Karambo village where they always cultivate when strong winds and water waves made the boat capsize, according to police.
