CONAKRY, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Four people remain missing after a pirogue, a long and narrow canoe, sank on Wednesday off Kassonyah, a peripheral district of Guinea's capital city Conakry, according to the national radio on Thursday.
The four victims were two housewives and two boys, including a college student.
Sixteen survivors from the incident are currently receiving care.
A crisis committee has been set up to initiate search for missing persons, with the help of the maritime prefecture which has divers and swimmers.
With 20 passengers on board, the capsizing of the pirogue was caused by a collision with another canoe also loaded with passengers.
