ADDIS ABABA, July 5 (Xinhua) -- An electric cable which snapped and fell to the ground killed 15 people in Ethiopia's central Oromia regional state, a regional official said on Thursday.
Seyoum Degefu, Public Relations Head of East Haraghe zone in Oromia regional state, said nine people died instantly and six other individuals died from their injuries in hospital in the accident, reported state affiliated media outlet Radio Fana.
He said several other people are being treated in nearby hospitals with police conducting investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
