RABAT, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Morocco and Britain signed Thursday an agreement on initiating an annual strategic dialogue, the official MAP news agency reported.

The agreement was inked by Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita and British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson during a meeting in London, the report said.

The dialogue, which will address strategic issues of mutual interest, is to be held annually and alternately in the two countries, it said.

The dialogue will focus on four main themes, namely politics, security, economy and trade, as well as culture, education and youth.

The latest agreement aims to give a new impetus to the longstanding relations between the two countries, and set a more ambitious perspective for their development.
