GABORONE, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Two aircrafts on Thursday crashed in separate incidents in the north western and central parts of Botswana, the country's transport ministry confirmed Thursday afternoon.

Priscilla Simula, the spokesperson of Botswana's Transport and Communications, said in a telephone interview that one of the incidents involving a Botswana registered aircraft, A2-AAE Cessina C206 occurred at Nxamasere airstrip in the northwestern Botswana.

"It (the Botswana registered aircraft) developed an engine problem in takeoff and crashed at the end of the runaway," said Simula.

According to Simula, five people were on board including the pilot.

Fortunately, Simula said no one received injuries while the aircraft is reported to have sustained a minor damage.

In the second incident, Simula said a South African registered, Tabria, bearing registration ZU-AFD crashed Thursday near Serowe village, some 350 km north of the country's capital city in central Botswana.

She said the aircraft was en route from Sua Pan, a small mining township situated some 690 km northwest of the country's capital city Gaborone.

"The pilot, who was the only occupant of the aircraft, sustained minor bruises," said Simula, adding that he was treated at Palapye Primary Hospital, in central Botswana and discharged he same day.

Mid last month, a South Africa registered aircraft flying from Lanseria Airport in South Africa to Windhoek, Namibia crash landed near Jwaneng Airport, some 166 km southwest of Botswana's capital Gaborone when it developed some technical problems.
