LUSAKA, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's soccer governing body on Tuesday unveiled new head coach of the national soccer team and gave him a target to qualify the team to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Andrew Kamanga, president of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), who unveiled Sven Vandenbroek as new coach of the national soccer team, said the new trainer has been given a five-match task after which the two parties will review the agreement.

"I think the assignment is very clear, Sven's first task is to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. That is the prime objective we are also mindful of the other milestones," he told reporters.

Meanwhile the Belgian trainer said Zambia could still qualify for the African Nations soccer showpiece.

He said the door was open for all eligible players in the Zambian league and that he will have to check the players before picking on his squad.

Zambia is remaining with five Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers comprising home and away games against Namibia and Guinea Bissau and a return leg away to Mozambique.

The new trainer has replaced Wedson Nyirenda who recently resigned.
