KHARTOUM, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir will leave for Russia on Friday for an official visit, official news agency SUNA reported Thursday.
Al-Bashir will hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and attend the FIFA World Cup final match, the report said.
Talks between the two leaders will focus on economic ties, building strategic partnership for development, and review means of increasing investment opportunities in the sectors of agriculture and energy, the report said.
They will further review progress in implementation of a program for modernizing the Sudanese armed forces which is supported by Russia.
In November last year, al-Bashir paid a visit to Russia, during which the two countries signed economic and military agreements.
