MOGADISHU, July 14 (Xinhua) -- A huge explosion followed by heavy gunfire occurred near a security checkpoint near Peace Garden, a public park and Syl Hotel in central Mogadishu on Saturday, witnesses said.
The target is not clear yet but the smoke which could be seen billowing from the scene indicates surrounding buildings were under attack.
