SINGAPORE, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went up 0.03 percent or 0.86 points to close at 3240.5.
A total of 1.43 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.02 billion Singapore dollars (about 746.67 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 189 to 182.
The STI index closed up 0.21 percent or 6.85 points to close at 3239.64 on Tuesday.
