SARAJEVO, July 18 (Xinhua) -- One suspect was arrested and some 660 kilograms of cannabis sativa drug were seized on Wednesday in Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) city of Neum, some 210 kilometers southwest of the capital Sarajevo.

During an operation to bust drug trade, policemen of BiH State and Investigation Protection Agency (SIPA), in cooperation with BiH Border Police, discovered and seized the drug under the operation code-named "Petrol Line", SIPA official website said Wednesday.

This is one of the largest seizures of narcotic drugs in BiH.

"According to the findings, narcotic drugs were intended for the illegal market of Western European countries," SIPA's report stated.

During the action, a cargo vehicle was searched, where police officers found and temporarily seized 89 bags containing narcotic drugs and three mobile phones of "Samsung" brand.

The driver was arrested and handed over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

BiH, along with other Balkan countries, lies on the route of international drug trafficking linking Western Europe and Asia.
