SKOPJE, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Macedonia and Montenegro signed a memorandum of cooperation on Friday between national committees and bodies against illegal migration and human trafficking.
The memorandum of cooperation was signed during the meeting of the two respective interior ministers of Macedonia and Montenegro, Oliver Spasovski and Mevludin Nuhodzic in the city of Ohrid.
The meeting between the two ministers focused on the reforms of security services, the enhancement of capacities for financial investigations and property confiscation and the fight against corruption and all forms of crime.
Spasovski mentioned the importance of using Montenegro experiences regarding NATO accession talks and the opening of European Union negotiating chapter.
Meanwhile, Nuhodzic praised the friendly bilateral ties between the two countries.
"The relationship secures the enhancement of mutual cooperation. We can efficiently manage security threats only through cooperation on a daily basis, bilaterally, regionally and globally," said Nuhodzic.
In regard to Macedonia's path toward NATO membership, Nuhodzic noted that it is a choice for a better future, development, progress and increased security.
