Flights suspended in Bangladesh's airport after Thai airline flight suffers "multiple tyre bursts"

DHAKA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- All flight operations were suspended at Bangladesh's principal Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in capital Dhaka for hours after a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok suffered "multiple tyre bursts" on Tuesday afternoon.

"All operations were on hold for hours from 12:20 p.m. (local time) as the aircraft suffered tyre bursts while landing," said an airport official who did not like to be named.

"Thai Airways Flight TG321 had made an emergency landing at around 12:20 p.m. local time amid inclement weather," said the official.

"At least four of its tyres burst while landing on the runway."

No casualties were reported due to the mishap.

The plane, with 145 people on board, was stuck on the runway. TV footage showed passengers were gripped by panic.
