ABUJA, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Four police detectives were confirmed killed following an ambush by gunmen in Nigeria's northwestern state of Kaduna, according to local police authorities on Sunday.
They were shot dead in a gunfight with the gunmen who ambushed a special team of police detectives in Jankassa village of Rigassa neighborhood in the state on Saturday, said Sabo Yakubu, a police spokesman.
The police spokesman told reporters that no arrest has so far been made.
He said a team of reinforcement has been mobilized to the area in order to arrest the gunmen.
