KIEV, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is a key factor in evaluating Ukraine's creditworthiness, the Fitch Ratings agency was cited as saying by local media here on Monday.

According to Fitch, the disbursement of the next tranche of aid from the IMF's bailout program would help Ukraine sustain macroeconomic stability and secure access to financing from other partners.

The IMF program delays remain a source of uncertainty for Ukraine, which has to repay 5.1 billion U.S. dollars of its foreign debt by the end of 2019, the credit rating agency said.

In 2015, the IMF approved a 17.5-billion-dollar bailout program for Kiev in exchange for the implementation of a package of reforms. Since then, the eastern European country has received about 8.7 billion dollars from the IMF.

To continue the disbursement of the aid, the IMF has urged Ukraine to complete all the reforms envisaged by the program.
