TRIPOLI, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Libya's eastern-based army, led by Khalifa Haftar, on Monday killed 14 terrorists with an ambush in eastern Libya.
The army's 101 Infantry Battalion announced that it had killed 14 terrorists in an ambush at a security checkpoint located between the eastern cities of Tobruk and Ajdabiya.
A number of terrorists were also arrested and armed vehicles were confiscated by the army.
The bodies of the killed terrorists were taken to a hospital in the city of Ajdabiya.
According to local sources, the terrorists who were targeted are remnants of terror groups fleeing from the eastern city of Darna, which the army announced taking over in June after defeating the terror groups that controlled the coastal city.
