TRIPOLI, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Libya's water supply department on Monday announced that one of its sites had been targeted by a terrorist attack, without casualties.
The department, named man-made river department, said in a statement that "the wells location of al-Sreer-Sirte-Benghazi was targeted at dawn today with an armed attack by a terrorist group. Vehicles and supplies of the site were robbed."
Last month, gunmen kidnapped four foreign workers, including three Filipino engineers and a South Korean engineer, working at the southwestern Hasawna water supply site.
A water well field in Tazerbo, southeastern Libya, was also attacked by terrorists who killed two security men and kidnapped two others.
Since the 2011 uprising that toppled former leader Muammar Gaddafi's regime, Libya has been suffering escalating violence and insecurity, as well as political division.
