KIEV, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Canadian weapons manufacturer PGW Defence Technologies plans to deliver long-range sniper rifles to Ukraine, local media reported on Tuesday, citing the owner of the Winnipeg-based firm, Ross Spagrud.
In a video interview with the Ukrainian media outlet "UATV", Spagrud said his company will provide the Ukrainian Defense Ministry with LRT-3 rifles with an effective range of 1,800 meters, which are equipped with a sound suppressor.
The rifles, worth about 770,000 U.S. dollars, could be delivered to Ukraine in autumn, Spagrud said.
In December 2017, Canada added Ukraine to its Automatic Firearms Country Control List (AFCCL), allowing its exporters to sell weapons to the East European country.
