Belarusian president appoints new central government officials

MINSK, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Saturday announced the replacement of certain officials and the new appointments in the government.

Sergey Rumas, who headed the Development Bank, has been appointed as Belarusian Prime Minister.

Alexander Turchin, the head of the Council of Ministers' Office, is appointed as the First Deputy Prime Minister.

Igor Lyashenko has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister, who had been Chairman of the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry.

Vladimir Kukharev is also appointed as Deputy Prime Minister, who was Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee.

Igor Petrishenko, who had been the Belarusian ambassador to Russia, has been appointed as another Deputy Prime Minister. He will be responsible for the social field, including health, education, culture and sports.

Dmitry Mikulenok is appointed as architecture and construction minister.

Pavel Utyupin is appointed as industry minister.

Konstantin Shulgan is appointed as communications and informatization minister.

Dmitry Krutoy will head the Economy Ministry.

Roman Golovchenko is appointed as Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee.
