KAMPALA, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan police on Monday said it has arrested the last suspect in the murder of a Chinese woman in the central district of Mukono last September.

Deputy police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said in a statement that Rashid Mugaya, a motorcyclist suspected to have transported two assailants who shot dead 60-year-old Yang Yesu, a branch accountant at Nile Steel and Plastic Limited factory, in September 2017, was arrested at Banda in the capital, Kampala.

"He will be arraigned in court soon," Onyango said.

The suspect confessed to having transported Fred Kaluga and Edward Ngatukaya, currently on remand at Luzira Maximum Prison, to the factory premises in order to rob money, the spokesperson said.

At least four other accomplices are also on remand in Luzira.

Yang became the third Chinese woman to have been killed in the east African country in less than a year.

The two other Chinese women were stabbed to death in Kikoni, a Kampala suburb, in February 2017.
