ADDIS ABABA, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- The African Union (AU) on Tuesday announced the deployment of an Election Observation Mission to Rwanda's 2018 Parliamentary Elections in September.

AU's decision to deploy an Election Observation Mission to Rwanda's (AUEOM) 2018 Parliamentary Elections came following an invitation by the AU Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat, upon the invitation of the Rwandan National Electoral Commission, the pan African bloc said in a statement on Tuesday.

Rwanda will hold Parliamentary Elections from September 2 to 4.

The AU election observation mission is conducted mainly to provide an accurate and impartial reporting or assessment of the quality of the Parliamentary Elections next month, including the degree to which the conduct of the elections meets regional, continental and international standards, the AU noted.

According to the pan African bloc, its election observation team in Rwanda as well as other African countries offers recommendations for improvement of future elections based on its observation and findings.
