Morocco, Russia vow to consolidate bilateral strategic partnership

RABAT, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Morocco and Russia vowed Saturday to consolidate their bilateral strategic partnership.

The pledge was made by the foreign ministers of Morocco and Russia Nasser Bourita and Sergei Lavrov, respectively, in messages of congratulations to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The two ministers reiterated their commitment to joint efforts of strengthening Moroccan-Russian relations within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signed in March 2016.

They commended the "exemplary" relations between Morocco and Russia, adding that they are marked by "deep friendship, mutual respect and a multidimensional partnership."

They also noted the positive dynamics of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, hailing convergence in approaches on regional and international issues, particularly concerning strengthening security, peace and development in Africa.
