Estonian runner Fosti wins Tallinn Marathon

TALLINN, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Estonian runner Roman Fosti Sunday won the Tallinn Marathon 2018 in two hours 24 minutes and eight seconds.

For men's race, the second and third places went to his compatriots Ulari Kais and Aleksandr Kuleshov in two hours 31 minutes and six seconds and two hours 35 minutes and 11 seconds respectively, while Kenyan runner Daisy Langat achieved the first place in women's race in two hours 33 minutes and 50 seconds in the marathon (42.195km).

The second and third places for women runners went to Estonian Kaia Lepik and Ethiopian Amane Sedi Chewo in two hours 52 minutes and 23 seconds and two hours 55 minutes and 14 seconds respectively.

Both Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid and Paco Borao, President of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, were present at the marathon event, wishing enjoyment to all runners.

The program of the three-day Tallinn Marathon 2018 also included Sunday's half-marathon (21.1km), Run, walk, Nordic Walking 10km and Kids races on Saturday and "We Run Tallinn 5km" event on Friday.

Up to 3,000 participants from about 60 countries and regions took part in the marathon held in the Estonian capital for the country's centenary, according to organizers.
