Second group of migrants from MV Aquarius relocated from Malta to Luxembourg

VALLETTA, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- The second group of migrants who disembarked in Malta from aboard MV Aquarius last month left Malta on Sunday morning to be relocated in Luxembourg, the Maltese government said.

The first group of migrants left Malta for France at the end of August.

The MV Aquarius was allowed to disembark 141 rescued migrants in Malta on August 15 after an agreement was reached on the distribution of the migrants among France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain.

The agreement reached for the relocation of migrants among EU states was the second "ad hoc" one after that of the MV Lifeline.
