India's Goa chief minister hospitalized

NEW DELHI, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chief Minister of India's western state of Goa Manohar Parrikar was hospitalized Thursday, officials said.

Parrikar was admitted at a hospital in the afternoon after he complained of uneasiness.

"Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has been admitted to hospital today afternoon in Candolim and is undergoing treatment," Michael Lobo, a lawmaker in Goa, was quoted by a local media as saying.

Parrikar has been in and out of hospitals since the beginning of this year. He was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital.

The 62-year-old former defense minister of India went to the United States for three months for a pancreatic ailment.
