NEW DELHI, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a friendship pipeline project and two railway projects along with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina.

The inauguration was done via video conferencing by the two prime ministers -- Modi from India and Hasina from Dhaka on Tuesday.

The 130-km India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline Project, which will connect Siliguri town in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal and Parbatipur in Dinajpur district of Bangladesh, is to have capacity of one million metric tonnes per annum.

Modi hailed the cooperation between the two neighbors as an example for the world, an official statement said.

"Geographically we are neighbours. But emotionally, we are a family. Being part of each other's joys and sorrows, helping each other in development is part of our family," Modi said at the inauguration.

"The pipeline will add a new chapter in the friendship of the two countries," he added.
