BISHKEK, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- A delegation of Chinese historians from the Institute of History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) visited a number of historical cities of Kyrgyzstan, the country's Kabar news agency reported Wednesday.

The Chinese historians visited the southern cities of Uzgen and Osh as well as the medieval cities of Balasagyn and Suyab, during which they held talks with fellow historians and undergraduate students of Kyrgyzstan's Osh State University, the report said.

The delegation was invited by Kyrgyzstan's Muras Foundation.

The CASS Institute of History will soon sign an agreement with the Muras Foundation on cooperation in academic studies, according to the foundation.

The Muras Foundation was formed in 2012 by the presidential decree to study the historical and cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan.
