SALZBURG, Austria, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz doesn't believe there will be a solution for the migration issue at the informal EU summit here on Thursday.

Ahead of the day's meeting, Kurz again spoke against a discussion about the distribution of refugees in Europe, noting the migration issue could not be resolved at the summit.

The debate over the distribution of refugees at the summit is not a solution, Kurz told reporters, but still he saw the chance to come to a solution while cooperating with north African states.

There is a need for a deeper cooperation with the north African countries, according to the Austrian chancellor, with a view to Egypt. The proposal to talk with Egypt and others was supported by EU leaders.

Ahead of the Salzburg summit, European Council President Donald Tusk and Kurz have hold talks with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo about possible cooperation.
