SINGAPORE, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.05 percent or 1.48 points to close at 3,219.16.
A total of 1.05 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 801 million Singapore dollars (about 586.8 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 212 to 165.
The STI index went up 1.17 percent or 37.25 points to close at 3,217.68 on Friday.
