OSLO, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- A map showing Norwegian Armed Forces' installations and facilities, including its top secret facilities, has been published by the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM), newspaper Aftenposten reported Thursday.

According to Norwegian military news website Aldrimer.no, the aim of the map is to provide guidance to drone operators and thus make it easier to film and photograph from the air with drones, the report said.

Defense facilities, including NATO bases, are marked with accurate coordinates on the map and Norwegian military experts reacted, with some saying it weakened Norway's defense capabilities, Aftenposten wrote.

"People must use their head. What is the National Security Authority really up to? With a quick search, you can easily find objects that should be shielded," said Svein Jarle Jacobsen, former head of the Maritime Guard.

NSM's communications director Mona Strom Arnoy said the Norwegian authorities have a responsibility to show where it is illegal to film or photograph.

The published database refers only to areas where drones are prohibited, and the map does not provide information about the type of facility that hides behind the markings, she added.
