PHNOM PENH, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia on Tuesday donated 200,000 U.S. dollars to earthquake and tsunami-hit Indonesia, according to a foreign ministry statement.

"As an expression of solidarity with the government and people of Indonesia, at this difficult moment, the Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to contribute a modest amount of 200,000 U.S. dollars in humanitarian assistance for the relief of the victims of this tragic natural disaster," the statement said.

The Palu City of Indonesia's Sulawesi Island was devastated by both massive multiple earthquakes and an ensuing tsunami that struck on Friday.

At least 1,249 people had been killed and 799 others sustained serious injuries, as 152 others are still being buried under debris or wreckage of buildings, a spokesman of Indonesia's national disaster management agency Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said Tuesday.
