KHARTOUM, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Sudan's foreign ministry on Wednesday summoned Head of the EU Delegation to Sudan Jean-Michel Dumond over a press meeting held by the EU ambassadors and U.S charge d'affaires in Khartoum on Tuesday.

"The ministry informed the EU ambassador with its rejection to the way the meeting was held as it was against the diplomatic norms," said Sudan's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Babikir Al-Siddiq in a statement.

The ministry further said the meeting was selective as it did not include all the Sudanese journalists or their representing bodies.

According to the statement, the meeting reviewed matters still in question, such as the Press and Publication Act being discussed among relevant institutions.

The ministry stressed keenness on dialogue between Sudan and the EU to achieve the desired goals in the agreed frameworks, institutions and priorities.

The EU delegation in Khartoum on Tuesday issued a statement saying it met with a group of Sudanese journalists, including editors-in-chief, to discuss issues concerning the Sudanese press.
