LONDON, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Two pest controllers were found dead early Thursday in a factory after a suspected chemical spill in southeast England, local police said.

Emergency services were called to Banham Poultry in Attleborough near Norfolk at about 1:10 a.m. (BST) on Thursday after the sub contractors' bodies were discovered.

The men, one in his 30s and another in his 40s, were found close to the building and nobody else was injured, Norfolk Constabulary said.

The factory is currently in lock-down and local train services have been halted following reports of the suspected chemical spill at the site.

Three hazardous area response teams were sent to the factory, as well as an air ambulance.

"Despite the best efforts of all involved, two men died at the scene," a spokesman for the Eastern Ambulance Service said.

The factory is the largest employer in the area, employing around 1,000 workers directly and responsible for a further 2,000 in the supply chain.

The firm is a long-established Norfolk family business which can trace its history back more than 40 years.

The company produces its own chicks, hatches chicks and then rears chickens all the way through to slaughter. It supplies chickens to major supermarkets and other stores and wholesalers through Britain.
