ISTANBUL, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were wounded on Thursday when a driver crashed his car into pedestrians in Istanbul, the second incident of its kind in the city in three days.

The latest happened during a police chase in Istanbul's Kucukcekmece district.

The driver, reportedly a drug dealer, drove his car into a crowd walking on the pavement, as was shown on CNNTurk.

Three police officers pulled their guns and forced the driver to stop his car after he hit several people.

The officers then detained the driver and another person inside the car.

Ambulances were dispatched to the area.
