TUNIS, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed announced Thursday a series of measures to improve services in 350 municipalities across the country's 24 provinces.

"Far from being a simple regulation, the decentralization of power is a process, a vision and a culture that imposes well-studied steps," Chahed said at the opening of Local Authority Day.

The Tunisian leader also announced 852 million dinars (about 302 million U.S. dollars) of investment in the municipalities.

These investments are the result of the bilateral cooperation with the European Union, Italy, and a credit line provided via the Tunisia-Germany partnership.

Regarding technological modernization, Chahed announced an action plan that contains 30 projects during the period 2018-2022, which mainly aim at digitizing municipal services.
