BERLIN, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- President of the Thuringia State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Stephan Kramer, issued a warning on Thursday that a new type of right-wing terrorism is currently taking root in Germany.

"My working hypothesis is: all ingredients and preconditions for a right-wing terrorism are present," Kramer told German media outlet Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND).

Although related structures were still only in an early stage, a growing tendency among right-wing extremists to resort to violence was evinced by the latest investigations of the German Public Prosecutor General. Kramer referred to the recent arrest of eight individuals who are believed to have formed a terrorist group codenamed "Revolution Chemnitz".

Based in Chemnitz, the group in question is suspected of planning attacks on foreigners and political opponents, and were reportedly already in the process of acquiring firearms towards that end. German prosecutors believe the suspects were involved in recent incidents of violence witnessed during a series of demonstrations.

Commenting on the developing case on Thursday, Kramer noted that the country's far-right scene was generally becoming more violent. "There is a high affinity (within the scene) for martial arts, physical exercise, and shooting exercises. This suggests that they are increasingly preparing for violence," he said.
