Libya's Benghazi international airport to remain open next week

TRIPOLI, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- The administration of the international airport of the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on Friday denied reports that the airport will be closed next week due to security chaos.

"The administration of Benina international airport denies that the airport will be close next week and redirecting flights to Al-Abraq airport. The administration calls all media to investigate their sources of news before publication," the airport's administration said.

Abdullah al-Thani, eastern-based Prime Minister, on Wednesday said that the airport might be closed next week and flights will be redirected to Al-Abraq airport in the nearby city of Al-Baida "in case the chaos continues."

Local media on Friday said that the airport would be closed next week due complains by many passengers about security chaos.
