NEW DELHI, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- India's Election Commission on Saturday announced dates for forthcoming local elections in five states -- Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana.
India's Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat, while announcing the schedule at a press conference, said the elections will be held between Nov. 12 and Dec. 7.
Counting of votes, according to Rawat, will be carried out on Dec. 11.
