ISLAMABAD, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Security forces have recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, an army statement said Wednesday.

The operation was conducted by paramilitary troops after receiving an intelligence tip-off regarding presence of arms and ammunition in provincial capital of Quetta, the Inter-Services Public Relations, the mouthpiece of Pakistani army said in a statement.

Details of the recovered weapons were not revealed by the military's media wing.

The intelligence-based operation was a continuation of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad (rejecting discord) in the country.

Launched in February last year, the joint operation by the army and other law enforcement agencies aims at eradication of hidden sleeper cells of militants in the country.
