Inflation in Belarus reaches 3.7 pct in January-September

MINSK, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- The inflation in Belarus amounted to 3.7 percent in the first nine months of this year, the Belarusian National Statistical Committee said on Wednesday.

From January to September 2018, prices for food products increased by 2.1 percent, non-food products by 3.5 percent, and services by 7.2 percent, the committee said.

The consumer price in September 2018 increased by 0.8 percent after 0.1 percent growth in August.

The Belarusian authorities predict that prices for goods and services will rise by no more than six percent in 2018.

In 2017, inflation fell to a record low of 4.6 percent from 10.6 percent in 2016.
