6.5-magnitude quake hits 190km E of Tadine, New Caledonia -- USGS

HONG KONG, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- A 6.5-magnitude earthquake jolted 190 km E of Tadine, New Caledonia at 002806 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 33.0 km, was initially determined to be at 21.8 degrees south latitude and 169.7 degrees east longitude.
