Macedonian parliament votes to begin drafting constitutional amendments on country's name

SKOPJE, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Macedonian parliament on Friday evening voted to begin drafting constitutional amendments to change the country's name to the Republic of North Macedonia.

A total of 80 parliament members voted in favor of the motion, securing the required two-thirds majority of the 120-seat parliament.
