MUMBAI, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- China and India should enhance cooperation to boost each country's cinematic ideologies across the world, Indian television actor Gagan Malik has told Xinhua in an interview.

Gagan, a popular television actor, who shot to fame for his role as Lord Rama in the television serial Ramayana, said Sri Siddhartha Gautama, an epic biographical film about Buddha that released in 2013 has given a breakthrough in Gagan's career.

For his role as Buddha in the film, he has won Best Actor Award in the world Buddhist Film Festival organized by the United Nations.

Gagan is about to attend the 5th World Buddhist forum, which is to be held in Putian city of China's Fujian province from Oct. 28 to Oct. 30.

The forum will be based on the theme The Harmony of Mutual Exchange, aiming to provide an opportunity for the exchange of insightful Buddhist practices amongst participants and to spread the concept of Dharma internationally.

Talking about the forum, the Indian actor said that it's a great honor for him to attend such forums since he believes the pleasure of Dharma "has to be spread across the world.

"If we combine 60,000 movie theaters (from China and India) all together to release Indian movies in China and Chinese movies in India, definitely we will leave Hollywood behind. I am sure about it. We are ready, our companies are also ready for it including Bollywood and even the south that is another film industry in India. As I said, we will release Chinese movies in India, we can dub it in theatres, and we could give a chance."

Gagan expressed his aspirations to make a collaboration between the Chinese and Indian film industries.

The importance of media for spreading the goodness of Dharma between India and China is his major argument throughout the interview.

He also said that he and his production partner has already discussed about starting a film production company that targets Chinese and Indian markets. They already have a few scripts ready in hand to make movies in collaborating with big companies in China.
