SEOUL, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) agreed to hold sports talks later this week to increase sports exchange between the two sides, Seoul's unification ministry said Wednesday.

The sports dialogue was proposed by the DPRK Tuesday, and accepted by South Korea, the Seoul ministry said in a statement.

The sports talks would be held on Friday at the joint liaison office of the two Koreas in the DPRK's border town of Kaesong.

During the talks, the two sides will discuss the inter-Korean sports exchange, including the joint participation in the international sports event such as the 2020 Summer Olympics.

The sports delegations will also discuss issues on the joint hosting by the two Koreas of the 2032 Summer Olympics, the ministry said.
