Myanmar to hold criterium bike race

YANGON, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will soon hold a criterium bike race in Mandalay on November 11, the official Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper reported Friday.

Jointly organized by Myanmar Cycling Federation and the Ministry of Health, the first-ever invitational criteruim bike race will feature men's U-23, men's junior U-19, open and masters categories.

Six professional cyclists, each from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and Myanmar, will participate in the men's U-23 and men's junior (U-19) categories while 100 local cyclists will take part in the open U-40 and masters (aged under 40 and above) categories, respectively.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first three winners of each category in the race.
