DHAKA, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked technocrat ministers of her cabinet to resign shortly after announcement of the election schedule.

Hasina, who is slated for addressing the nation Thursday, issued the directive during a meeting on Tuesday saying, election-time cabinet can't accommodate unelected individuals.

Hasina's cabinet has four technocrat ministers who are not members of the parliament.

They are in-charge of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of ICT.

Bangladeshi Election Commission will reportedly announce the country's 11th general election schedule later this week, including the dates of collecting, submitting, scrutinising and withdrawal of nominations.
